The Ohio Department of Development has launched the Ohio Meat Processing Grant Program, an initiative aimed at enhancing the growth and efficiency of livestock and poultry producers throughout the state.
Ohio Meat Processing Grant Details:
This program offers grants of up to $500,000 to help you boost processing efficiencies, expand or construct facilities at existing sites, and enhance harvest services.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Your business must own or operate a meat harvesting/processing facility in Ohio that was operational as of July 1, 2023.
- Your facility must provide processing services to livestock and/or poultry producers.
- You must be a for-profit entity (corporation, LLC, partnership, joint venture, or sole proprietor).
- Your business must be in good standing with the Ohio Secretary of State, the Ohio Department of Taxation, and other relevant governmental entities.
Funding Uses:
Grants can cover costs associated with:
- Purchasing new or upgrading existing machinery and equipment.
- Integrating new or upgraded technology products.
- Constructing or expanding plants, focusing on confinement, processing, or refrigeration areas.
